Who we are
PORTORO ("we", "us") is the brand under which we operate a web design business based in Quebec, Canada. PORTORO operates this website, portoro.ca, and is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at [email protected].
Information we collect
We only collect information you voluntarily provide:
- Contact inquiries — your name, email address, and any details you choose to share when you reach out by email or through our contact form (for example your type of business, an estimated budget and your message).
- Call bookings — if you book a discovery call, the details you enter in our booking tool (such as your name, email address and any notes you add).
- Project information — details you provide during our working relationship (business name, content, images, etc.).
- Analytics data — if you accept analytics, Google Analytics 4 collects usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location (country/region), and device and browser type. This is only collected after you consent via our cookie banner.
Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 (loaded through Google Tag Manager) to understand how visitors use our site so we can improve it. Analytics is governed by your consent: no analytics cookies are set and no analytics data is sent until you click "Accept" on our cookie banner. If you decline — or simply ignore the banner — analytics stays off.
When enabled, Google Analytics may set cookies (for example _ga) to distinguish visitors and measure sessions. We do not use advertising, remarketing, or ad-personalization features, and we never sell your data.
The Google Tag Manager script itself is loaded on each page so that analytics can start if you accept; our analytics tags are configured to run only after you accept, so no analytics data is sent before then.
You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the site footer. Our fonts are self-hosted, so the site makes no third-party requests for fonts.
How we use your information
- To respond to your inquiry or quote request.
- To deliver the web design services you hired us for.
- To send project updates and invoices.
- To measure and improve how our website performs (only with your analytics consent).
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We only share data with the service providers listed under "Third-party services" below, and only to operate and improve our site.
Data storage
Your information is stored in standard business tools (email, project notes). We retain it only as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill our service obligations or as required by law.
Some of the service providers listed below process information outside Quebec and Canada, including in the United States.
Your rights (Quebec / Canada)
Under Law 25 (Loi 25) and Canada's PIPEDA, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data, where legally permitted.
- Withdraw consent at any time.

Third-party services
- Cloudflare Pages — our hosting provider. Cloudflare may log IP addresses as part of standard infrastructure operations. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
- Formspree — processes the messages sent through our contact form and forwards them to us by email. See Formspree's Privacy Policy.
- Calendly — handles discovery-call bookings when you choose to book one. See Calendly's Privacy Notice.
- Google Analytics & Google Tag Manager — once you consent, Google processes analytics data on our behalf. See Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
